Publication Ethics

BARAKARSA Health Sciences Journal (BHSJ) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows internationally recognized guidelines, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal ensures integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal must ensure that:

  1. The manuscript represents original work and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  2. All sources and references are properly cited.
  3. Authorship accurately reflects individual contributions to the research.
  4. Data presented in the manuscript are accurate and have not been fabricated or manipulated.
  5. Any conflicts of interest are clearly disclosed.
  6. Studies involving human participants or animals have received appropriate ethical approval from relevant institutional review boards.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  1. Making publication decisions based solely on the scientific merit of the manuscript.
  2. Maintaining confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  3. Ensuring a fair and unbiased peer-review process.
  4. Addressing ethical concerns such as plagiarism, duplicate publication, or data fabrication.
  5. Taking appropriate action when ethical misconduct is suspected.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts.
  2. Maintain confidentiality regarding the content of the manuscript.
  3. Declare any potential conflicts of interest.
  4. Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

Publication Misconduct

The journal does not tolerate academic misconduct, including:

  • Plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Duplicate publication
  • Improper authorship attribution

If misconduct is identified, the journal may reject the manuscript, retract published articles, or take further action in accordance with COPE guidelines.
